I need a tried and tested recipe for vanilla Cake preferably butter cake to be baked in a 6 inch round pan that is about 2 inches high. The cake will be cut in two, filled and frosted with chocolate buttercream.
I made one using this recipe but it dint rise well and is dense and compact.
1/2 cup unsalted butter
2/3 cup (130 gm) white sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 large eggs (168 g )
1 1/2 cup all purpose flour (195 g)
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup milk (60 ml)
Im baking it for a friend for the first time and want to be perfect. it should be mist soft yet sturdy to hole the frosting.
