Help! Time Sensitive Question

So I painted my fondant pieces with a pearl dust mixture (just pearl dust and vodka) but it's drying sticky. Has it just not dried long enough or did I mess something up? The cake is due in the morning!! Please help!

Fondant pieces do begin to be a bit sticky when painted with vodka and pearl dust but mine usually dries to the touch within about an hour or two. If yours is not drying that fast I have no idea why because the whole idea of using vodka is that it evaporates quickly.

They've been in front of a fan on high for like 2 hours! I don't get it.. any idea how to not make it sticky?

What about putting them in the oven with just the oven light on? That should help dry them out faster.

My get like that when the humidity is high or if I use too much vodka on the brush. Make sure you take the excess vodka off your brush on the side of the bowl. The remedy is time....leave the fan on them and they may be dry by tonight. HTH

It might be the fondant you used icon_sad.gif What recipe/brand did you use?

I make my own fondant--MMF. just marshmallows and powder sugar. Also, can any help with "glue"? I've tried melted chocolate, royal icing, a gumpaste glue(soaking gumpaste over night). Nothing is working. ARG!
