Newbie Question About Fondant-Covered Cake

Hi,

When covering a cake in fondant, do you tint the icing the same color as the fondant?

It doesn't really matter cause it'll be covered. It's unlikely your fondant'll so thin the underlying colour'll show through. But if you want to err on the side of caution, you could.

I typically do not.

I suppose there might be occasion where I would, but typically not.

Oh I didn't mean b/c it would show through. I just meant for how the cut cake looks. If you don't do you just use white BC?

Nah, personally I'd just leave it white icon_smile.gif Unless it was chocolate fondant and chocolate buttercream and chocolate cake combo icon_razz.gif
