Didn't you provide a business name for your business license? If you are already selling with no license this is an issue. Does your state have a cottage food law? Do you know if you are even allowed to sell baked goods from your home?

You will find that Just Desserts is taken and will get you in a lot of trouble, as well as others on the other list. You must do a search. You can't just name your business anything you want. People own trademarks on these names, many nationally.

As Annie said, it would be a good idea to get your licensing in order before you sell.

I'm actually in the process of doing all the legal things but before I do get started I need a name, yes I did see that the names I've picked we're taken,
Those were some good names I have a lot of thinking to do...... how do I go about finding out if names are taken just by googling them?

If the name hasn't been registered nationally, I think you can still get it if you're in a different region/state. For all we know, you're in another country.

You want to make sure any name you pick you can get the domain name online as well. You'd be suprised how many are already taken.

If you have one that you like, you can add your state abbreviation behind it with the .com.
