I would like to make an awesome model of the Emeral City to top a cake. I was thinking isomalt would be the best medium to accomplish this, but I'm open to other ideas. I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas as far as the execution. I have a make your own mold kit, if that helps. I don't care how time-consuming or tedious the process is...I just want it to look awesome! Thanks so much!!!

Maybe you could do it this way? http://sugarsweetcakesandtreats.blogspot.com/2010/09/superman-kryptonite-cake-and-sugar.html

Just make bigger crystals (make the grooves in your foil bigger) and glue them into the city shape. You just use melted sugar to glue the pieces together. HTH
