How do you get a nice gold royal icing?
I was told that you can use a disco dust, mixed with vodka and mix it with the icing, is this true? I need the actual icing gold not just to paint on the color?

I've never had any luck mixing luster into frosting and having it remain shiny. The only thing I know of is painting it on. Sorry I'm not much help... maybe somebody else will know more for you. icon_smile.gif

It would be impossible to get gold RI by mixing in luster dust. The only guaranteed way is to start with a deep yellow and paint the gold on afterwards.

You could try starting with deep yellow then mixing in metallic gold airbrush colour, but that could make the RI too thin and the shine probably wouldnt show through anyway.
