I need to do a 3 tier wedding cake. I am looking to buy ready made chocolate frosting I checked Sams but it is a 5 gallon bucket. I am not sure how many pounds that is BUT it seems like an awful lot.....Any suggestions other then making my own. (it never comes out)

It's probably around 30 lbs. (28-35 range)you could call and ask them.

Depending on how large your 3-tier cake is, you might use 15 lbs. of it if the cake serves around 150. Also ask the shelf lifeit's probably labelled for 8 months at room temperature... if you don't plan to use the other half of the bucket within that timeframe, it will last longer refrigerated.

Personally, I like Sam's Chocolate icing. It has a good taste and is nice to work with. I have used the Hershey recipe, but, I like Sam's convenience and taste.
