Help Finding A Past Post About How To Color Cake Batter
Decorating By Winnie Updated 21 Oct 2011 , 9:00pm by Rach82
I saw a post about how to color cake batter and to make the cake without making so many different layers and an answer about adding ingredients to WASC and coloring and layering the batter...Does anyone know where I can find this post.
I don't know where the thread is, either, but I did see it. What was suggested in it was to divide the batter and then tint each portion the color you want. After that you CAREFULLY layer the colors into your prepared pans. There was a picture there that showed what the cut cake looked like. The layers of color weren't totally even - some were thicker on one side than on the other - but the general effect was quite charming.
Am not aware of the post but the following may help. The Kaleidoscope Cake Tutorial is about half way down.

Hi
I made my own version of this cake for my daughters birthday.

Basically I made the batter, divided into 6, coloured with colouring paste, baked, filled & stacked. It was VERY tall & hard for me to cover (first cake I ever tried to cover) but it went down a storm.

It's nowhere near as good as the cake you guys make, but I was ok with how it turned out since it's the first cake I ever covered!
