The little top tier of my two tier cake is causing me grief! The bottom one is fine. The top tier 5" has been in the fridge overnight, it's crumb coated with buttercream which had set up nicely. My fridge is new, and is really cold.

So I think I know what the error was, I took the cake out of the fridge, and put fondant on it when it was straight from the fridge, now the fondant is all wet, I can't smooth it out and it just looks like one huge wet and sticky disaster!

So really cold cake + room temp fondant = DISASTER! icon_cry.gif Is that what my error was? It's also been raining here non stop all day and does feel humid.

Thanks so much to anyone who can help!

I would peel it off and re-fondant it, especially since itys such a small
cake
