making a baby's first bday cake, and I am doing a hockey theme. Im wondering how to do fondant ice skates I recnetly did shoes for the first time, just thought someone has an instructional link, or a template I can print off to follow it a little easier icon_smile.gif thx

Thank you for posting that but I took a look at that and it doesnt really help me icon_sad.gif
If anyone has any ideas, as to how to build it out of fondant it would be appreciated, thank you icon_smile.gif

I would sketch the skate part and make it out of thicker gumpaste, let dry completely, then paint silver and let dry again

In the meantime mae the gumpaste boot, I really would not use fondant for this project.

Once everything has dried, use some white choc to adhere the skate to the boot

Use templates for shoes to give you an idea on how to make the shoe part, you might have to elongate the shaft part, sneaker templates should work quite well
