I have always used the Wilton recipe for BC icing. I would really like to try something new. What's your favorite recipe? I'm looking for the trifecta; tastes good, great consistency for decorating and doesn't require refrigeration. Thanks for your help!!

Try the recipe on "Design me a cake.com website. I started using it two months ago, and i will never go back. It holds up in heat really well, and when left out the butter doesn't separate.

1 C. unsalted butter
1 C. shortening
2 Tbsp meringue powder
3 to 4 Tbsp water
2 LB powder sugar

cream butter & shortening, add powder sugar 1 cup at a time, add
meringue powder, add water
This is a doubled recipe, you can half if need be.
I also add pure vanilla to taste.
