does anyone have a simple way to quilt the side of a cake without having to buy new equipment????????

You can use a ruler and hold it at an angle. Mark the cake with a fondant veining toolort whatever you might have that would indent the fondant.

i use a rightangle triangle, mark out 1 inch intervals around base of cake line up straight side with the mark and draw along the sloping side with a wheel do this all around cake then turn triangle over and go around again, hope that makes sence you could also use a piece of card which bends nicely around a round cake hth
