How far in advance can I ice and decorate a cake? I am using just buttercream icing, with fondant accents. I am not covering it with fondant. Help plz?

For me I prefer to only have about 4 days between baking and the person gets the cake. I don't freeze the cakes.
A decorated cake can sit for a couple of days, but I start my count down from the actual baking.

Thanks, I figured it would be okay to ice it a few days before!
