Help!

I have a topsy turvey cake due for 08/13/2011, I have the Fat Daddio Madd Pans, and the Cakestackers.com support system without the topsy turvey angled kit spacers. I would like to know do I still need to carve the cakes before stacking or can I just slide the cakes onto the support rods system and the base plates, being that they are already slanted. (ex. Base plate, cake plate, First tier cake , onto rods and support system, repeat in order. All feedback Welcome.
