Hi Im very new to baking and was wondering can I freeze a cake made from a packet mix?
Absolutely. I wrap mine (scratch and boxed) VERY well in plastic wrap, then again in foil.
When you thaw it, leave it in the packaging that way the condensation collects on the wrap and not the cake.
You can also freeze cupcakes.
I do just what Annie does with great results
One certainly can fz cakes Either scratch or box mix, no problem.
It's best to take pan from oven, allow to cool about 10 minutes, make sure it's level w/the top of the pan (cut if necessary) then turn out onto a cooling rack for another 10 minutes, while you prepare a crisscross of plastic wrap(+). Wrap the lightly cooled cake well but be careful that you don't pull it so tight as to warp the cake. Then, wrap in foil OR put into a sealable plastic bag and fz. Will least in fzr as much as a year - but best to use within 6 months.
Thank you everyone x
