Has anyone added an extract flavoring to candy melts for their cake pops? I am dying to make lemon raspberry pops but am hesitant to potentially ruin a whole thing of candy melts...

Or if not an extract, what is another way to get a good raspberry flavoring in the shell of the pop? Thank you all! icon_biggrin.gif

You will need to use an oil based flavoring, anything else will make it seize and become unusable (unless you add enough to make a "ganache" but that's typically not what you are looking for for cake pops). You will have to try it and see if you can get enough in there to get a good flavor before it's too much liquid.

Do you happen to know where I can find oil based flavorings? Would that be something requiring a trip to the natural foods store? Thanks for your reply! icon_smile.gif

You can find some candy flavorings at Michael's, but I'm not sure if they have raspberry. I've also gotten some oil ccandy flavorings at http://countrykitchensa.com (just put it all together).
