Stencil On Buttercream

How do I do use a stencil on buttercream? The bride doesn't really want to use fondant so what is my best, neatest way to use a stencil on a crusting buttercream?

It's easy but you have to becareful that your bc is in fact crusted, and that when you place the stencil you hold it gently against the cake so no BC or RI, get under the stencil, then when you lift, do it straight up away from the cake.
