Does rice paper eventually melt onto butercream?I want to add hand drawn images and woul dlike them to melt into the cake like a frosting sheet. My other question is, if it doesnt melt then can I hand draw with edible ink or markers on the frosting sheets without those melting from the ink and then place those on the cake? Thank you!

yes you can, just don't let the marker sit in one place too long, you will get holes.

The rice paper will not melt in. Holes will develop on the thinner brands of icing sheets, but you wont have that problem with all icing sheets.

I went ahead and used the rice paper, but then took a paint brush and went over everything with gel colors. It is a treasure map so before I did that I took cocoa powder to make it look rustic, cant tell it is on there unless you really get up close.. will post pics after I deliver tomorrow. Thanks for the advice!
