Hello all.... has anyone used a red velvet mix (or another flavor) to use with the WASC recipe for a red velvet cake? I have a request for Friday. Thanks!!
I haven't personally tried this, but it seems to be well-rated:

I've done Red Velvet with WASC and it turned out really well. The only thing I add to the recipe is 1/2 box white chocolate pudding. HTH!
yes I have done WASC red velvet and add 2 TBSP cocoa powder. I have gotten rave reviews!!!
That sounds yummy. Which wasc recipe do you use?
Sorry I'm just now seeing this post.
If you read through the instructions on my *original* WASC recipe you will see that **ANY** flavor cake mix can be used. No need for extra pudding, buttermilk, or a whole bunch of egg whites (what are you going to do w/the yolks?). Just follow my instructions and you will have a great cake![]()
I use kakeladi's recipe. I also add the whole egg in the recipe. I think it adds to the moistness of the cake and adding the extra cocoa powder because when you add flour to a chocolate cake mix it cuts the cocoa taste so you need that extra. Who wants a chocoalte cake that doesn't taste like CHOCOLATE!!?
I use the red velvet cake mix for kakeladi's wasc recipe all the time. I also add cocoa powder and everyone loves it! I also use macsmom's chocolate wasc version and just sub the red velvet mix and that one is super choclatey. Both are delicious!!!
