hello i am a newbie and doing a doll cake can someone please tell me the best icing color and brand to buy to make hot pink for buttercream?i have the regular pinks and im just looking for something very bright. thanks!

I use the Americolor Electric pink~ I didn't need to add very much and it gave me a very hot pink.

Go to Sugarpaste Crystal Colors and get the hot pink. If you can't tell then e-mail Beth and ask for the hot pink. It is a powder color and it stays hot pink. You might end up using part of a small bottle. Add powder colour to icing sugar ( sifted( then do the usual mixing. I find these colors work well on royal icing, fondant and buttercream. I like to call it barbie type pink.

I've had great luck with Americolor hot pink as well. I consider it "barbie pink". Good luck!!

Americolor Electric Pink for sure! Check out the crown in my photos...airbrushed with it.

If you are in a pinch, Duff has a great electric pink. Michaels carries his brand.

Wilton Rose is also not bad, if you cant find Americolor near you

Hobby Lobby carries Americolor...cheaper than a local cake supply store. I used 2 drops for my BC last week and it was very pink!
