What gage floral wire should I use on gumpaste flower petals? ( I am working on a peony, orchids and tulips.) The wire I have is too thick because I can see it throught the petals. Also any advise on how to get it in the petal without it poking through?
Thanks!

I have a selection and just choose by the size of petals, some are too fine and won't take the weight.

The trick is to leave a slightly thicker ridge where the wire will be, you can get a rolling mat that has ridges to do it for you. I roll out my gumpaste, then roll from either side leaving a thicker bit down the middle (if that makes any sense!)

Thanks!
Should I put the wire in before I use the petal cutters and veiner then? I was putting it in after I cut out the petal and before I used the veiner. I appreciate the help!

I'd put it in after the cutter and before the veiner as you'll probably squash it a bit.
