I am making my first tiered fondant cake for a baby shower in couple weeks. I wanted to see if you guys can guide me about how should I stack the cake. I am making an 8 inch cake and a 6 inch cake will go on top of it. Both of them will be fondant covered.

Question: do I use the cake circles when stacking? Can I use butter cream to glue them together, so the 6 inch cake doesn't slide off? Also, should I use a center dowel?

Any help or suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thank you all! icon_smile.gif

Yes, yes, and yes if transporting.

(and don't forget to use dowels or a support system.)
