I did a Cat in The Hat cake a couple of months ago. There is a picture of it on my photo page. All it was was just the hat. It was pretty simple to make but it came out great and the client loved it. I also did a more elaborate Dr. Seuss themed cake (there are pictures on my page as well). Here is how I made that cake: http://jessicascakes.weebly.com/anatomy-of-a-cake.html. My advice: get hold of the copy of the book and find some inspiration in there. The illustrations are all animated and fun. Don't be afraid if you mess up a little, it looks great when the lines are a little crooked....just like the book![/url]

You could add images/figurines of baby things...like a rattle, bottle, onesies, and even a baby in the same color scheme as the book. And have you heard about the baby shower cakes where they find out the gender of the baby by what color the cake is inside? Well if you know the gender, you could tint the cake either light blue or light pink and that would also help with the baby theme! Hope that helps...I can't wait to see pictures!

One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, New Fish!

I had a cake like this saved in my faves before I did a mass cleanout. I'll see if it's still there and post a link.

Be careful as to not confuse the books.

A Cat in the Hat is not the same as One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, New Fish or any of the others. It's a specific book in the Dr. Seus series.

I think what Sangriacupcake showed is perfect for a baby shower. "A person's a person no matter how small" could definitely mean "baby" in a very subtle way. And you can always do what's on the bottom, a banner welcoming the baby.

But here's a few more. They definitely have baby stuff in it.
