We can't even get meat in southeast la. Everyone is replenishing their freezers due to the loss of power from the storm. Alot of things will be different as New Orleans was a producer of many products and a major port. Please remember not to panic. The more we panic and stock pile items the less there is on the selves. People should conserve on gas too. Most people don't realize that LA produces 30% of our nation's gas and most of that production is at a stand still. However, if the public stays calm and does things like carpool to conserve gas we should be fine. We will bounce back from this and if nothing else the nation will learn many valuable lessons. God forbid there is ever another disaster like this we will be better prepared.

No university student would be caught dead without it!!!

A hot pot, some water, little bit of milk from the cafeteria and you are good to go! Saved me on many an all-nighter when the growlies hit! icon_lol.gif

Just wanted to add my 2 cents about the gas production, etc....there were also 2 oil rigs that washed up down here...one on Dauphin Island, AL, right near Mobile and the other in Gulf Shores, AL about 30 miles south of me. So those aren't producing either. Hard to believe as big as they are that they were just ripped loose from their pilings and washed ashore!

The store shelves here are beginning (a little bit) to stay fuller, longer...that's a good sign. But I'm still honing my bread-baking skills and figuring ways to make one roast into 3 or 4 different meals!! It'd be great if we'd all try to do that sort of thing more...think of the $$$ we'd save!!! lol icon_lol.gif

I was just in Sam's. They had plenty of powdered sugar. But bought three bags just in case. icon_smile.gif

Guess I might add a couple of words here: I just arrived here in southern Oklahoma (Ardmore, I think it's southern...) for a visit and asked that plenty of p.s. be on hand, and they had no trouble getting it...now anyway. We'll be going to get more groceries soon so I'm going to check this out!

Haha, my apologies. Is KD for Kraft Dinner, just a Canuck acronymn or do you folks in the U.S. and elsewhere use it too?
