HOW do I make this net? For the life of me I just can't get it to work out.

It looks like the red portion is either molded around a wire and then bent to shape, OR, possibly gumpaste that's dried. I would personally go with the dried gumpaste way by finding a square tupperware type container about the same size I wanted the net. Then roll my gumpaste, or even push it thru a clay extruder to get the perfect width of the cage portion. Then use the tupperware to set the gumpaste the way you want it to dry, kind of like a template (is this makeing ANY sense?!). The once it's dry, you can just cut gumpaste strips to wrap around the cage portion.
