Can you put buttercream decorations on a fondant covered cake. For instance buttercream roses. Can you put that on a fondant covered cake? And also if you can do buttercream decorations can you do royal icing decorations as well?

I just made a fondant covered cake that had gumpaste flowers and I used buttercream for the leaves. Turned out pretty good.
