Help With Fondant?

EVERY time I roll out fondant to put on a cake, when I go to peel it off the criscoed counter top it rips! How can I prevent this!!

Your counter top is too sticky. What you should try is rolling out your fondant on powdered sugar! It shouldn't stick, just make sure its nice and covered in it before u start rolling it out! Also dust your rolling pin with some as well!! Hope this helps!! =D

(You could also use some cornstarch as a substitute for powdered sugar as well,but the sugar tastes better! lol )

I never could get my fondant to come off of the counter top without something going wrong. I bought a pastry mat at Walmart for $6 and now I roll all my fondant out on that and I have had much better luck.

It could be because it's sticking. It could also be because it's too soft or is rolled too thin.
