I'm making cupcakes for my seamstress friend's birthday, and I want each cupcake to have a little dress on it. I've ordered some "barbie hangers" for barbie clothes from e-bay (to hang the "dresses" on or attach to for a fun effect), so my question is... how should I make the dresses?
I though perhaps fruit roll up and cutting it into the shape of a dress?
Any better suggestions?
how about making them out of fondant? Roll out some fondant and cut it out.
how 'bout this? on top of each cupcake put a cake ball or molded hourglass cake ball and then a doll head. then you can dress each cupcake. personally even though i like how a fruit roll up is flexible, i love the colored mini tootsie roll more. microwave a mini tootsie roll for 7 seconds (more if needed in v small increments) to soften and then you can mold, shape and add decorations. and when all else fails, eat the evidence! i know others will say to use fondant but for small pieces, candy works out nicely. good luck!
