Hi, I want to make a cake with a fruit filling. I have heard that when using fresh fruit as a filling, sometimes it can cause a cake to slid and can become a slimy mess. My question is can I mix the fruit with buttercream, custard, or pudding and be ok? Are there any tricks to this?

Yes- you can add fresh fruit to any of those. Just make sure you make an icing dam around the edge of your cake- just a smidge towards the inside and not directly on the edge. Don't overfill with too much filling!

Good luck.
