Hi Suzy

I'm in Canada so not sure what kind of back to work help you have in your area. Meaning financed or non financed job training you can apply for from your government or state, but I'd suggest looking into that for a start.
Here we have programs/courses for women who have not been in the workforce for a long time, that help them upgrade what they already know, or to train in new field. Its basically back to school for adults, but if you don't have the funds to pay for the training yourself, you can apply for funding through the goverment.

I'm adding a couple of links that might be of some help. The first link is information on re-entering the workforce, and the second link is for the US dept of labor. The US dept of labor is chock full of info so be prepared to read a lot! Make sure you click on FAQs on the US dept of labor page, theres more good info there.

Best of luck to you!
