Im tired of my old chocolate cake recipe, although it tastes very moist but its just too soft and doesn't hold its shape so well. Is there a dense yet moist chocolate cake recipe you like? Thanks
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chocolate Mud Cake! It is a dense, moist, decadent chocolate cake.
The recipe I use is this one: http://hubpages.com/hub/Best-Ever-Mud-Cake-Recipe
PS: Amazing choc WASC is my go-to, but it's a doctored box recipe, so if you only do scratch, then it won't work for you.
The recipe on the Hershey's box is the best chocolate cake I've had. I tried a substitution that I read here, to replace the 1 cup of milk with 1 cup of sour cream, and it was more sturdy, and just as amazing as ever.
hollys-hobby, i see this recipe around. I know the pan is 9" round, how high is it. In Planet Cakes book, they give this 9" size, but i can,t tell the highth. It looks 3" high. could you use 2(9"roundx2" h pans.) Hope you see this, to help me out. thanks
I've been making this one for almost 30 years: No other one has ever beaten this cake!

When I made this last week, I used 2 8"x2" pans and had a little left over for about 4 or 5 cupcakes. I could have filled the pans just a little more, but I was worried about it overflowing, so next time I will fill them a little more.
