I am wanting to make a lamb for decor on my sister's baby shower cake. If i make the body out of rice crispy treat can i apply icing directly to it or should i cover it in fondant then apply icing?

You can apply icing directing to it. Royal icing works very will if it is for decoration. Buttercream would be fine too.
