3D Boot Cake--Need Help!!!

I am trying to make a 3D beer boot cake. I'd like to try and make it stand upright...how would I go about doing this?

I think I would need to start with a good base and support to go down the center of the cake. Are rice krispy treats needed or suggested for this type of project?

I've never really carved a cake before (minus a basic cut out), so any pointers on how to do this and where to start is greatly appreciated.

Has anyone done this before and have any good advice?

How many servings do you need?
It really won't be that hard and can be all cake if you want it be, no need for rkt.
I can draw you up a diagram if you need it?
