How do I get the holes to not appear in my finished cake. Can somebody please tell me what I am doing wrong. Lately every time I bake a cake, the finished product has holes all through it. I beat, I tap the pans down, and spin the pans. The end results always have various holes in the end. HELP!!!!!!!

Maybe you are over beating the batter or baking at too high a temp? Also depends on your recipe...some recipes are a little more "spongy" than others...so you might need to stick with a denser cake, like a pound cake or a wSc to get the fine crumb you sound like you're looking for. I hope this helps!

I usually make cakes starting with a mix and then doctoring. I used to have this problem until I started sifting the mix before adding the other ingredients.
