Hello all!

I am looking for any ideas about something other to use than fondant that creates the same look. A few people I have made cakes for love the look of the fondant but dislike the taste. I use marshmallow fondant, and I don't think it is the flavor as opposed to the texture. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions??? Thanks!!

You could always smooth your buttercream to look like fondant -
You can use this technique to ice it smooth...

I ice most of my cakes in BC. I learned the technique from Sugarshack's DVD called Perfecting the Art of Buttercream. You can get it at SugarEdProductions.com. Best purchase I've ever made!

You can use rolled butter, however it's a little harder to work with.
