My next cake has to have "really gritty frosting"...any advice on how to make frosting gritty? I normally use Indydebi's buttercream...would I just not mix as long? Add more sugar? Any help is appreciated...TIA

that's a strange request! I guess I'd toss in a handfull of sugar to give it grit. ...just weird.

use some granulated sugar in the frosting!! The first time I made a cake all by myself (I was in elementary school) I didn't realize the difference between the 2 sugars and used all granulated sugar in the frosting. It tasted great, but was very gritty!
