I saw this on cupcake wars and had to make it! The licorice filling turned out great but I couldn't get the cupcakes to bake. I tried the recipe twice and each time the batter would literally flow like lava out of the muffin tins onto my oven floor (which is now on auto clean). The first batch was filled 3/4 full, the second batch 1/2 full. The batter was then poured into cake pans and STILL bubbled up. It has to be the carbonation from the cola but I heated it according to the directions for a minute in the microwave. Has anyone else tried this recipe? I now have a great licorice filling with nothing to put it in!

Haven't tried that recipe, but I did bookmark it because it looked interesting. I would try letting the cola go flat before mixing the batter. There are also lots of other cherry cola cake recipes out there....I'm always on the lookout for interesting cake flavors!
