I am doing a red hat society theme for a 80th birthday and I am looking for a small hat or bonnet mold to put on top of cupcakes. I can not find one anyone have any ideas?

It would be be SOOO easy to make fondant hats without a mold. Cut the brims with a round cutter. Roll the fondant for the crown thicker. Place a piece of plastic wrap over the fondant and cut with a small cutter over the plastic wrap. The wrap will make a nice sloped half-sphere instead of a sharp-edged circle.

Glue the crown to the brim.

Cut out thin strips with a pizza cutter or extrude them with a clay gun. Wrap around the base of the crown.

You can add tiny piped flowers or plunger flowers.

I did make a few without a mold but I need to make a lot and thought it would be faster. Thanks for the info. icon_smile.gif
