In a few weeks I'll be making a Pittsburg Penguins jersey cake for a 7 year old. I was wondering, for those of you who have made one, how many layers did you make it? I was thinking 2, but would I need more? Did you carve it to look more realistic (like round off the edges and arms)?

hi,

I've made a few jersey cakes and have only needed to make them 2 layers.
You can round the shoulders a bit, but the fondant sleeves kinda hide that part anyways. Here is a team Canada one i made ....did'nt carve any of it, just a plain 9x13". Hope this helps, have funicon_smile.gif

thanks. I'll have to do carving because she wants it in buttercream...no fondant icon_sad.gif I'll have to make arms from cake too.
