I have a four tier cake with the bottom tier being a petal share, what size should it be? I was thinking the the top three round tiers could be 5, 7, 9. or 6, 8, 10 therfore, could the bottom be 12 inch?

Idea for you--get some scrap paper or newspaper and draw out these sizes and play with a visual to see what you can see--what you like best. Unless you have the pans--stack up some pans to see how it looks to you.

Sure the bottom could be a 12.

i thought so, but wanted to check before investing in the pans!!! thank you!! Determined for 2011 that I will be using different shapes as I always stick to rounds or square! A new year, a new challenge!!
