Can buttercream be frozen? Well, frozen, thawed and still have the same consistancy and workablity? If so, are freezer bags fine? Thanks!

I freeze my BC all of the time and I know that there are others on CC that do the same. I have frozen it in air tight plastic bowls (as air tight as they can be) and I have used freezer bags (I use two bags).

Mine is fine when it is unthawed. I have to remix it a little but otherwise it is pretty much the same consistency. I have kept mine frozen for several months and it looks and tastes the same.

Same here, I freeze my leftover buttercream all the time, and it is just fine after it is thawed. It also tastes pretty good frozen! icon_biggrin.gif
