Any suggestions for places to order supplies online for boxes, boards, etc. Our local vendor sucks and we want to take our business elsewhere. I want quality but dont want to pay a fortune. Any suggestions?

I am thinking about getting an official cake business going and have looked at options for boxes and various other supplies. Uline seems to have decent prices on boxes. Check them out.

I totally agree with Jason. I order all of my boxes, cake rounds etc.. from brpboxshop. They're great! They don't charge a shipping fee and depending on where you live in the U.S. it can take as little as one day to receive your order.

I get my boards from tuffboards, They're awesome, strong but you can cut them to size, and you don't have to cover them with any plastic or paper etc. If you look in their clearance section you can find some real bargains, but they'll be strange colors. Who cares, you don't see those if the cakes are stacked on them anyway!

I usually grab cake boxes (10x10x5.5) from Restaurant Depot for about $31 for a 100ct case. I think BR sells the same thing for almost $70. RD doesn't really ship, so it's only an option if there's one near you.

They're pretty good for quite a few of the ingredients we use, too. Supplies like cake pans and spatulas are really overpriced, though. If going for the first time, be sure to bring along your sales tax certificate or business license. It's a free membership.

I just priced around on the internet for boxes and found CK Products to be least expensive, but their size selection is a bit limited. For the non standard sizes (8x4x4), I ordered from brp, they had free shipping & fast service.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dallas Foam Company for fake tiers. SUPER cheap and they ship really fast. When I got a banged up fake cake, I called them and they just added a free one to my next order. I've used them for a couple years now and no complaints.

I recently started using cuptainers for cupcake carriers and cake boards. Pretty cheap and they have a lot of options.

I go onto vistaprint every once in a while to replenish my cards, postcards, brochures and just see what items they have for free. Then, I just pay shipping.

I hope that helps!!
