My nephews birthday is in a few weeks and his favorite thing to play with are hiw Lincoln Logs. I wanted to make him a cake that looked like the forts he builds but can't figure out how to make the "logs". I want to be able to cut through the logs while serving the cake, so pretzle sticks are out of the question. Anyone got any ideas?

How about Tootsie Rolls? Or, you could roll chocolate fondant into logs, then cut them in half lengthwise with a clay blade (long, straight blade with no handle). On the sides of the cake, the logs don't have to be completely round.

If you have the Makins Clay Gun, the extra set of discs contains a fairly large half-circle. It's what I used to make the bamboo on the luau wedding cake on the first page of my pics.
