I tried rolled buttercream as per some of your suggestions and it worked very well and I've also done fondant in the past but I just had an "ah-ha" moment, what about Cream Cheese Fondant? I tried the recipe on here awhile ago for a cake and it was so tasty but hard to work with but I think for cookies, it might work but before I go off and waste a bunch of ingredients, I just wanted to know if anyone has already tried it and how it worked.

It tastes great and pretty much looks and acts like Rolled buttercream on the cookie but it is a major PITA to work with because it is very soft and breaks very easily. Here is the recipe I used: http://cakecentral.com/recipes/7060/cream-cheese-base-fondant

I think that next time I'll try a cream cheese mmf recipe I saw on another site and see if that hold up better.

I'm trying out new icing techniques to open my horizons, so to speak, but I keep going back to glace for looks, ease of use and taste...

another possible issue...not sure if they will freeze because cream cheese does not freeze well at all. I have one in the freezer, 'll take it out and defrost it in the morning and re-update

hi, i found this recipe for cream cheese fondant. I am going to try this one. the one on c/c says it is really hard to work with. Also , i found on a site, can,t think of it now. they sell cream cheese flavoring . that would be really tasty also.

I've tried the LorAnn's cheesecake flavor and didn't care for it. What recipe did you come across?
