Has anyone tried to advertise their FB page? I'm just kinda wondering how that has worked for you? i am trying to to get more fans & have people more interested by offering a dozen free cake pops but it doesn't seen to be working... Maybe I need to give it more time? i have heard some great success stories by using Fb, it just doesn't seem to be working for me.. I guess I'm just looking for some input.
Here's a ink if you're intrested... If you have one I'll fan you too.

I just "liked" your page. Mine (Auntie Mia Cakes) has about the same amount of people. Since I am a hobbyist it doesn't really matter for me, but it's fun to see how many fans you can get!
Good luck!

I just "liked" both of your pages! icon_biggrin.gif and here's mine. I'm not sure how you can go about to get more fans. I'm assuming you "suggested" the page to everyone on your friends list...other than that, I don't know. but you both have beautiful cakes!

I interviewed a guy who is a social media expert. Twitter is passive (send a message ... hope people read it). FB is interactive. Run a contest. you dont' have to have a prize but something like "Debating with the kitchen staff over the most popular cake flavor. 2 of us say Red Velvet .... 2 of us say Double Fudge Chocolate. Fan our page and tell us which one you'd vote for!" or show 2 pics of cakes (just pick 2 you've already made) and ask, "These are two trial cakes for a 16 year old's birthday. If it was your birthday, which would YOU prefer? Fan our page and tell us your choice!"

If you can provide links to your page to view the cakes rather than post the pics themselves, that will help get people to click over to your page.

I see this kind of thing all the time on the cake/catering/business people that I am FB-Friends with. The purpose is to drive traffic to your site.

Interactive. Get them to DO something.

I liked your page. If you want, you can check out mine. I am just a beginner, so I don't have a lot of cakes. I also belong to a group on facebook called I Love Cake. You may want to check them out. They may be able to tell you how to increase your flow.

Try to get everyone you know (family & friends) to become a fan of your page. Everytime someone becomes a fan it's posted on their profile and all their friends see it. You may get some click-throughs, you may get more 'likes' but either way it gets your name out there!

Facebook is a great place to find potential clients and advertise for free. Please be careful if running competitions or giveaways on facebook. It is against their rules (unless it is run through an external website). MANY pages have been closed because of running free giveaways/comps lately. It would be terrible if you lost all your fans and had to start again. Try giving 'shout outs' to pages that you like and hopefully people will return the favour. In Australia we have quite a few promotional pages where you can advertise on their wall (for free), they seem to work quite well too. Here's my page,

I'll be sure to pop on and 'like' all the links above.

Also, I wanted to add, be sure to check your account settings to make sure your account is open for everyone to see not just friends or friends of friends...excluding any personal info you don't want to share.
