Just wanted to share.
I opened my shop and things have been going great. I have a little girl following on facebook. New and up coming decorators.
I have held four private decorating parties in my shop. I have about 8 kids at time come. they get chef hats and aprons. A small three inch round plain iced cake and three decorator bags with about a 1/4 c. of colored icing. I use disposible bags and heat seal the end so the icing dosent ooze out.
The kids have been so well behaved and don't even make a mess. I have gotten thank yous later for the great time they have had.
The kids get so excited because they get to do like the guys on tv.

Thanks for reading. just excited.

I love your idea for heat sealing the decorator bags! I've done the rubber band thing when working with kids, but I'm going to try this.....thanks!

That's so cool! Congrats!

Tell me, have any of them said "I'm Duff" or "I'm Buddy" yet?

Sounds like so much fun. It's amazing that even older kids, and so many boys, are really into this. We had a Sweet 16 for my daughter and did a similar thing with all the decorating stuff -- icing, and shimmer colors for painting on chocolate, different colored decos, etc. High school kids got seriously engrossed and turned out some amazingly creative and beautiful stuff. It was a big hit all around.

Sounds fun! I did a meeting with 12 7th grade Girl Scouts. Your idea of sealing pre-filled bags is wonderful! What sealer do you use?
