jammjenks made one here and has it posted in their photos. Maybe you can contact them and ask them for some help and suggestions.

Just a thought, maybe use buttercream & size 4 or 5 tip to cover your cake. Then wrap brown fondant as twine on the ends.

I would bake it in bread pans, as it's a true rectangle. That's what I did for my lego cake.
