I need help with a crayon cake design. Plan to make lots of 8" rounds, cut in half and place on a board to look like a 1/2 crayon is laying down. My question is do I put cake boards in-between any or all of the 4 " it normally is? And do I need any dowels for extra support?

Thanks a bunch!

You are laying the cake halves on their sides correct? So when you cut them down the middle, the middle would now be the bottom of the cake right? I am assuming your not stacking them are you, if not I am not really sure how/what you would be doweling or why you would need to use cake boards.

You are correct. The cut side is the bottom. I didn't think I'd need cake boards, but now I guess I'm over thinking.
