Extra Tall Tiers, How Tall?

I have a bride that has provided me a picture of a cake that looks like it's tiers are taller than the standard four inch tiers. To do the look new modern extral tall look what is standard? 5 inch , 6 inch or something else? Is there a typical? Thanks for your help!! icon_smile.gif

If you'd like to post the picture, we can give opinions as to what height we think they are if the bride is expecting the cake to look the same.

I think 6" is typically the standard for tall tiers. For serving purposes, you might consider using two 3" layers (with a board in between) rather than three 2" layers that may not fit on a plate.
