My twins were 18 inches and 20 inches 5 weeks early.. a 15 inch gumpaste baby is like a 7 month baby in utero !!!!!!!! and that would be a topper for what size cake ? I have that mold.. and it takes time to color it.. paint it.. dust it.. make the blaket.. if you charged minimum wage for the two hours.. you undercharged !

You would need a pretty big cake to put a 15 inch baby topper on!

Just sayin'

And no, you did not over charge, you did not charge enough!
You work is beautiful!

Why would anyone even consider putting a 15" sugar baby on a cake in the first place? icon_eek.gif I wouldn't want to cut that size of sugar baby, let alone receive a slice of it. 'Specially not if I got a toenail or left bum cheek or something... icon_biggrin.gif

icon_lol.gif I don't think the customer said she wanted a 15 inch baby, she said she expected the one she got to be about 5 times bigger! I think she was just eyeballing that little thing, ya know?

Either way, that is too funny she expected something THAT much bigger when she had a picture to compare the scale to.

Was she really complaining about a $10 price tag? Or more that the size of the baby was so small in person, her vision of it on top of an 8 inch cake wasn't working in her mind!

You did a fabulous job, by the way! thumbs_up.gif

The idea of a life sized baby topper kind of grosses me out.

Yours is cute though, I think you should have charged a little more.

That customer probably had the same thing to say on her honeymoon. icon_lol.gif

Seriously though, she's a nut.

BTW - I recently saw a cake with a baby topper about 12" long and it looked horrible. Well made, yes, but it looked dead. I'd post a picture, but I'm afraid the baker would see it. icon_eek.gif

I don't think you over charged at all, but if someone had printed a picture of only the 6" round and shown it to her she may have thought it was an 8" round. That said get a picture with the baby in your hand or next to a quarter, something that people can visualize with something of a familiar size. : )

I guess after the shower is over you could carry it around or wrap it up in a blanket... icon_rolleyes.gif

This. It would be just GROSS and WRONG to have a life size baby on a cake.
